Crew 7 and their new Captain catch midmorning house fire.

At 9:40 on Saturday morning, Loudoun County ECC received a call from Rutledge Ct reporting smoke and fire coming from the roof of a single family home. The first arriving engine (W18) layed out from a nearby intersection and advanced an 1 3/4 line to the 2nd floor. E18 was nice enough to pick up supply line for W18 (come from home crew) and pulled the backup line. All searches were negative and AC11 had command.

Good luck with your new crew Captain Clist.

Shed fire in the Park

Just after midnight, a box alarm was sounded for a fire in the area of N Ash Rd and N Ash Ct. The engine and truck from 11 arrived within moments and got a report of smoke coming from the back of a house on N Ash Ct from the friendly neighbor. Upon further investigation, nothing was found until smoke started to issue from the doorway of a detached shed to the side of the house. As the engine crew was stretching a line, the truck crew made entry to the shed. Once the door was open a small fire was found and extinguished. Command held E611 to assist the FM in his investigation.

Filed under: Training — Jeff Brown @ 10:56

On Sunday, 3 December many members of the Sterling Volunteer Fire Company went to Leesburg to participate in live fire training at the Loudoun County Fire and Rescue training center. Although we are constantly training it is rare that so many members get to train together with live fire.
