Mission Profile

The mission of the Sterling Volunteer Fire Company is to provide superior fire protection to our community through the use of highly trained and motivated fire fighters, the most up to date equipment, responsible financial planning, and the cooperation of our neighboring companies.

The Sterling Volunteer Fire Company operates out of three fire stations, responding to almost 4,000 calls annually, and is considered to be one of the busiest and well-trained volunteer fire companies in the State of Virginia. From these stations, volunteers respond with three fire engines, two ladder trucks, two “Special Emergency Response Vehicles”, one Safety Officer unit, and one Command Unit.

The volunteers spend countless hours training to maintain certifications in fire fighting, emergency medical services, and technical rescue. They are also constantly upgrading their skills and equipment to keep up with the latest technology and practices in the fire service.
