The Sterling Volunteer Fire Company operates out of three fire stations: Sterling Park (Fire Station 11), Sugarland (Substation 18), and Cascades (Fire Station 18). From these stations, we respond with three fire engines, three ladder trucks, a hazardous materials response unit, two “Special Emergency Repsonse Vehicles” and two command units. All of these vehicles are funded with donations from the community.
We spend countless hours training to maintain certifications in fire fighting, emergency medical services, and technical rescue. We are also constantly upgrading our skills and equipment to keep up with the latest technology and practices in the fire service.
All of this training and equipment is brought to bear on more than 3,000 calls for help each year and this number is rising steadily. Calls range from resetting fire alarms to car accidents to large-scale fires.
